Weekend W.I.P.lash - No. 6

July's vault color (and the swampy East Coast heat) has officially ushered in Paloma season...for your needles and drinking glasses. We want more gorgeous and gauzy fabrics. Bring on the breezy linen and silk, please and thank you! This time, we took a page from our lovely Thea Colman of Baby Cocktails and are sharing one of our favorite Paloma recipes below!

mischievous makings

We are pulling back the curtain on the inspiring endeavors of our talented employees and creative customers. Each edition, we will spotlight two incredible projects, whether it's a knitted/crocheted masterpiece, a scrumptious baked creation, or some mindful mending. Let this section be your bi-weekly dose of inspiration, encouraging you to unleash your own inner creative genius!

MAGPIE: francesca

Current WIP: crochet

“I love entering projects into the Frederick Fair, and this year I’ve decided to try to make one of the craziest and tiniest things I’ve ever made. The final product is going to be beautiful, sooooo, here’s to hoping I can finish in time!”

-Francesca

Magpie: holly

Current WIP: knitting

“I knew when other Magpies were testing that I had to have a Vestank, but seeing all the projects and how customizable it is definitely moved this up in my queue! This heat has been a real motivator, I can’t wait to wear this out and about.”

- Holly

holly is working on the equinox vestank by shay johnson. You can find the pattern here.

convincing cast ons

Every week, we scour the knitting universe for new releases, hidden gems and timeless classics, ensuring you have a queue overflowing with irresistible projects. Newbie or seasoned knitter? We've got something for everyone. So, ditch the decision fatigue and let us lure you into a world of yarn-filled wonder!

FIRST UP: Lily Sheer top

by Irene Lin

We're pretty obsessed with this pattern, and several of us have either paused other projects or are rapidly trying to clear off some needle space to cast this on. This gorgeous, flowy number is just begging to be cast on, and with the combo of lace weight and US6s, you'll feel like a knitting magician.
For this, lace weight is your best friend! Feather Mohair would give more of that mohair glow, or you could opt for Plume Lace, letting that cashmere shine.

NUMBER 2: limonata

by Ana D

The fun and open motif of this pattern screams summer, and we're here for it. The repeating motif keeps you motivated and in that "one more row" mentality, making this baby fly. Dress it up or down, this top would be the perfect addition to your wardrobe.
Worked up in sport weight, Equinox Sport would be perfect for this beauty! That silk and linen combo would be *chef's kiss*.

Cocktail corner

Paloma party!

We couldn't create a whole colorway inspired by a Paloma without bringing you our tried & true Paloma recipe.

We hope this gave you a few ideas for your weekend or inspired you to try something new! Because, let’s be honest, as crafters we love doing a little bit of all the things 😌 And let us know if there are other things you would like to see on our Weekend W.I.P.lash posts, we love hearing from you and learning what inspires and speaks to you!

Happy making!
