Double WIP Magic

We are pulling back the curtain on the inspiring endeavors of our talented employees and creative customers. Each edition, we will spotlight two incredible projects, whether it's a knitted/crocheted masterpiece, a scrumptious baked creation, or some mindful mending. Let this section be your bi-weekly dose of inspiration, encouraging you to unleash your own inner creative genius!

MAGPIE: KIKI

Current WIP: Knitted tank top

“This year I want to add more summer pieces to my wardrobe, so I’m starting early! I’m testing Shay of KnitandCroShay’s Vestank pattern that is coming out in April, and loving how quickly it’s moving. Does anyone else also knit pet hair into their projects? Because Ginger is really trying to get involved 😆”

- Kiki

Current WIP: baking

“Since I can’t knit right now (I am experiencing pregnancy-related carpal tunnel syndrome), I’ve been baking more as I get deeper in this nesting phase. I love how much my daughter enjoys baking and cooking with me. This is my go to chocolate chip cookie recipe! And we use brown sugar only, trust me!”

FIRST UP: I’LL PENCIL YOU IN CARDIGAN

by Lindsey Muscarella

As we enter Spring and the “will it, won’t it” that is the weather of the next couple months, adding usefull layers to your cute OOTD becomes more and more important. This easy-to-style cardigan is begging to be added to you wardrobe!
Crocheted up in a worsted weight, Quartet Worsted, Nest Worsted or Lamana Como Grande would make excellent options for your new, chic cardi.

NUMBER 2: Brienne

by: Brienne Moody

Sporting a double cuff, cute pockets, and fitting like a bomber jacket dream, this sweater would make a great piece for those crisp nights or cool mornings. This pattern gives you wardrobe staple versatility by including options for both cropped and regular length bodies.

This was featured in one of our favorite books, Neons & Neutrals. This book is full of inspiration and ways to mix some fun pops into everyday wearability. Quartet Worsted or Nest Worsted would give amazing structure and longevity to this garment!

Magpie: Samm

Documentary: American Nightmare

“I love a good documentary, they are the perfect companion for all my knitting, and this one was so compelling. This crime documentary has a twist and focuses on the shortcomings of standard police procedures and their devastating outcomes when assumptions are made and evidence is ignored.” - Samm

We hope this gave you a few ideas for your weekend or inspired you to try something new! Because, let’s be honest, as crafters we love doing a little bit of all the things 😌
